Postcard #15

The intent of this postcard is to recreate an actual stamp, given creative license. This is my take on a past postage stamp.

January Lottery

Once a month my Artsnthemail Group has a lottery drawing. You need only make 1 postcard to enter. This is my entry for January. Lady bugs are supposed to bring good luck, and I will need it to win this lottery!

Easily Amused.....

...that would be me. Months ago I found a tutorial on how to make circles with your sewing machine. You tape a thumbtack onto the bed of your machine. Depending on the size circle you want, you either place the thumbtack closer or further away from the needle. You pierce your fabric over the thumbtack and under the needle. Set your machine for zigzag and away you go! Full directions for this technique can be found at Fibre & Stitch, free projects, circle stitching.

Postcard #14 is for a swap entitled January Jamboree. The instructions were to use a new-to-you technique, hence the thumbtack circles.

Yes, it has been a while since I posted, however, I have been busy. The two projects that I have been working on are not yet finished, which is why there have been no photos and no blogging. Soon...very soon.

Done!

I spent most of yesterday and about two hours today hand binding this quilt. Tomorrow is guild and I want to take the quilt for show and tell. I am glad it is done so that I can check it off my list and move onto another ufo.

Lucky Postcard #13

This is another postcard for a swap. The theme? Europe. I know to most people, French poodles don't come to mind when you think of Europe. I just didn't want to do the Eiffel Tower because I think I am going to find a few of them in my mailbox. With Christy's help, I learned a French poodle in French is caniche francaise. You learn something every day.

Back to THE LIST

Once again, I need to start a list. It seems to keep me on task a lot better than if I don't have one. So, here is my list for January.

1. Finish a swap block for the Artfulquilters Group.
2. Complete shoe postcard for swap.
3. Complete Europe postcard for swap.
4. Baby shower gift.
5. Padfolio.
6. Attach binding to pink/brown quilt.
7. Finish Ashley's pillowcase.
8. Work on Hawaiian quilt.
9. Make covers for two pillow forms.
10.Three secret gifties.

I will need all 31 days to complete this list. Actually, number one and two are already done. Time to get busy on the remainder.

Postcard #12

I joined two postcard swaps for January. This is the first one...shoes. Dorothy's ruby red slippers to be exact. The background is fabric from a line called "Wizard of Oz". How appropriate for this swap.
